Week 56 menu - For local delivery on Thursday 6th and national delivery and collections on Friday 7th May.
This week we've gone all Asian again, why? simple answer, coz we love it. Asian cuisine is so bright and fresh, full of colour and vibrancy. Also, we got hold of some lovely Brown clee lamb belly and we reckon the way we've done it in the starter is about as good as it gets! So once we'd started with that it was only right we continued with the vibe. Plus we got the first of this seasons chard in from our friends at Harehill farm, so that got thrown into the mix too. Enjoy this menu, we will!

The CSONS Burger?
People love our burger, some say it's in the list of the best they've ever eaten. We're pretty proud of it. Concieved after numerous trials in an attempt to reach perfection it's about time we let you enjoy it at home too, so we've created a cook at home kit. We make our beef patties with dry aged beef from Ludlow Farm and everything else has been made by us from scratch, even the milk buns. Image shown is a double (2 x 1/4 pound patties), the kit is suitable for freezing at home or using within 3 days. For more info (what's in the box, allergens etc) and instructions please download the INSTRUCTIONS sheet or watch the instruction video on YouTube. *Potatoes not included!
Veggie or Vegan? Worry not, we've got you covered too. Our Shropshire quinoa, Hodmedod bean and mushroom patty replaces the beef patty if that's what would prefer and we throw in some slaw for extra crunch too. If you're vegan then we'll even switch out the milk bun and do it with veganaise and smoked vegan cheese instead.
Essential add ons!
We've teamed up with some of our friends and suppliers to help get their amazing products to you and make CSONS at Home even more special! Keep an eye out here as more items will be added.
*Please note that items below this line are only available for delivery if accompanied by a CSONS at Home menu order.
House Wine?
Born in Shrewsbury, Paso-Primero is an independent, family run company in Somontano in the central Pyrenees of northern Spain. Our friends Thomas and Emma Holt settled here to achieve their ambition of bringing together old world traditions and modern techniques to make their own wines, in their own style. For more info visit Paso Primero.
Celebrating? treating someone? Why not add some fizz?
Choose from.......
Casa Belfi, Naturalmente Frizzante Bianco, Veneto, Italy. We should be eternally grateful that Albino Armani met Maurizio Donadi and they decided to collaborate, they bring us a style of Prosecco that hasn't been enjoyed for generations. They apply the Col Fondo method (literally translates to 'with bottom) where they leave the wine on the lees for a second fermentation and this will make the wine hazier than an Italian summer morning. If this wasn't enough to whet your appetite then read on...This is another one of those wines that tick all the boxes, not only organic and vegan friendly but the winery follows biodynamic principles and zero sulphates are used during any process. This frizzante is floral and fruity with subtle citrus notes, it's bone dry but will have buttery pastry notes from the lees contact, as with all great frizzante's the bubbles are mouth-wateringly delicate.
Sorelle Bronca, Modi, Prosecco Treviso Brut, Italy. Ersiliana and Antonella Bronca inherited some old vineyards in the 1980's but that isn't how you make interesting wines, you make interesting wines by inheriting a deep passion and that is what the Bronca sisters inherited from their father Livio, 'an aspiration to transform this deep family feeling into a life project'. Since then the Bronca sisters have more vineyards in Valdobbiadene, Veneto, the home and heart of Prosecco, here they have brought that passion and a true understanding of organic and combined it with modern techniques. Modi is an organically grown, estate-bottled Prosecco that is vivacious and elegant, with a very fine, lively perlage. Fresh and dry, with plenty of typicity, this is the perfect aperitif.
Pierre Mignon, Champagne, Grande Reserve, Premier Cru, France. The Mignon Champagne house has been in the family for 5 generations and now Pierre and Yveline Mignon have perfected their products with the help of their children Celine and Jean- Charles. Jean-Charles is the tour de force behind the modernisation and standards of excellence, he wields his magic both in the vineyards and the winery. The winery is set in Le Breuil in the Marne Valley, however they have sights across Marne valley, Epernay and Cotes des Blancs, this allows them to hand pick their own grapes and control the finished wines. Meticulous grape selection, refined settling techniques and rigorous fermentation controls allows them to filtrate less which means we are left with nothing but preserved aromas. Crisp, clean and vibrant notes as well as the brioche, yeasty and creamy finishes we expect from fine Champagnes, this does not disappoint. Pierre Mignon has a level 3 HVE (Haute Valeur Environmentale) and they are aiming for 100% sustainability.
Matched White?
Every week we send Robin at Iron and Rose our menu and he comes up with a perfectly matched wine. We thought it would be fun to just leave it as a surprise for you too, so if you fancy trying something diffrerent and you trust Robin's judgement hit the add to cart button.
Coffee?
Matt and Anabelle supply us with our CSONS espresso blend from their multi-award winning speciality coffee roastery in the Shropshire Hills. Now you can add our coffee to your order and finish your meal in style. At the moment our blend is a single origin from the Los Nogales estate in El Salvador. In the cup there is a rich dark chocolate undertone, followed by a complex muscovado sugar sweetness and dry sherry acidity. More info at Hundred House Coffee.
Olives?
We buy our olives nice and plain from the great people at Ludlow's Olive Press. We then marinate them to our recipe using fresh rosemary, garlic and chilli, finished off with a generous dose of the finest extra virgin Olive oil!
Kimchi?
We're pretty addicted to kimchi at CSONS. This korean staple is packed full of flavour with sweet, salty, sour and spicy notes that combine to give real umami! Being fermented, it's also great for your gut as it's full of live cultures. We made this one with Atsuko cabbage from the awesome Harehill Farm. Eat it on it's own or use it like a pickle when you want some extra heat and asian vibes. Try it with your egg for a banging breakfast!
Shropshire Salumi?
Will has been a supplier of ours since day one! It would be rude not to have him here and who doesn't want a bite of his tasty sausage? Shropshire Salumi is a small company based to the north of Shrewsbury producing handmade Salumi the traditional way using artisan methods and our nose to tail ethos. The pork is local, outdoor reared Gloucester Old Spot. More info at Shropshire Salumi. You will recieve a randomly selected salami with a min weight of 200g.
